Observer: System Redux

Observer: System Redux asks the player to slow down and pay attention, because its power comes from investigation, surveillance and quiet dread rather than constant action. By our assessment, that makes it a strong fit for people who like cyberpunk horror with a detective structure: you inspect rooms, piece together clues, and move through an oppressive future that cares as much about mood as about puzzles. The downside is that this pace will feel heavy if someone wants momentum, combat variety or a brisk escape from the setting. In practice it is all about listening, looking closely, and letting the environment do a lot of the work. Compared with louder horror games, it is more deliberate and more interested in unease than in shocks. It is not a comfort game, and it does not try to be one, which is part of why it lands.
