OVRdrop

OVRdrop is a small utility game app for people who want to place or access a floating screen overlay in VR rather than play a full game. By our assessment, its strength is the simple idea behind it: keeping a browser, chat, notes, or video visible while inside a headset can be handy, and the app is built around that one job. The downside is that this kind of tool is only as good as the headset setup and the person’s tolerance for fiddling with overlays and window placement. In practice it is less about excitement than about setup, position, and making a virtual screen stay where it should. It sits more like a VR utility than entertainment, close to the sort of companion tools people use when they want a desktop-like layer inside VR. OVRdrop makes sense for users who want that extra panel in the headset, and little sense for anyone expecting a game in the usual sense. The ceiling is narrow by design: once the floating window works, there is not much else for it to become.
