Nubby's Number Factory

Nubby's Number Factory looks like a small math game and plays like one too, which is exactly the point. By our assessment, the appeal is in the simple number-manipulation idea and the clear gamey feedback loop rather than in size or spectacle. The name suggests a toy-like factory, and that is pretty much the texture you get from a number puzzle built around producing and arranging digits. The limit is obvious: this kind of game lives or dies on whether its central rule stays fresh long enough. It sits closer to other compact puzzle games than to anything sprawling, and it is the sort of thing people pick up for a focused session rather than a long campaign. Nubby's Number Factory is, at heart, a small game about numbers working through a machine.
