Nex Machina

Nex Machina is a twin-stick arcade shooter for people who want constant pressure and very clean feedback. By our assessment, it does best at the old arcade loop: movement, aiming, dodging, and reading the screen in a split second. Housemarque gives it a bright, lethal flow of enemies, bullets, rescues, and score chasing that rewards practice more than patience. The downside is simple and real: it is built for intensity, not for long wandering or story depth, so its appeal narrows if you want variety. In play it feels fast, sharp, and exacting, with runs that can turn on one mistake. Compared with bigger modern shooters, it is leaner and more focused, and that focus is the point. It is strongest for players who like scoring systems and arcade discipline, and less interesting for anyone looking for a broad campaign.
