NEO Scavenger is a survival RPG for players who like hunger, thirst, injury, and inventory pressure to matter every step of the way. By our assessment, its strongest point is how committed it is to harsh resource management, scavenging, and awkward problem-solving in a broken world. That same commitment is also the limit: it can feel unforgiving, slow, and deliberately sparse for anyone who wants comfort or constant action. In play, it is a lot of searching, patching up, choosing what to carry, and trying not to waste a good item on a bad moment. NEO Scavenger stands well apart from softer survival games, and it asks for patience more than reflexes, with the map and the encounter system doing much of the work.
