NBA 2K20

NBA 2K20 is for people who want a full basketball package rather than a pick-up game in disguise: licensed NBA teams, MyCareer, MyTeam, MyLeague, and the usual split between on-court action and card-driven progression. By our assessment, it does the basketball basics well enough, with good presentation and the familiar feel of a modern sports sim, but the series also carries the same hard edge of VC-style progression and menu-heavy grinding that can leave a sour taste. The match play can be solid, yet the surrounding economy and mode structure often get in the way of the pure game. In practice it means lots of screens, upgrades, and seasonal systems wrapped around a sport that should be the center of attention. Compared with other annual sports entries, it sits in the middle: polished in motion, compromised in monetization. NBA 2K20 is a fit for basketball fans who want the broad feature set, and a poor fit for anyone who wants a clean offline sim without all the extra drag.
