NBA 2K17

NBA 2K17 is built for people who want a basketball game that lives on ball movement, shot timing, and the long pull of MyCareer and franchise-style play. By our assessment, it does those things well: the series' controls are usually precise, the presentation is glossy, and the match flow has a real sense of pace and spacing. The trade-off is the familiar sports-sim one, with strong emphasis on annual iteration and systems that can feel busy if you only want a quick arcade game. In practice it asks for a little patience with menus, roster management, and learning the rhythm of offense and defense. Compared with looser basketball titles, this is more simulation than pick-up game, and that is exactly where its strength sits. The name carries the yearly-sequel weight the series is known for, so the appeal is mostly to basketball fans rather than everyone else.
