Murdered: Soul Suspect

Murdered: Soul Suspect turns detective work into a ghost story, so the player is not just chasing clues but walking through walls, listening to echoes, and piecing together a murder from the other side. By our assessment, that central idea is the best thing about it: the premise gives ordinary investigation a strange, moody shape. The cost is that the adventure side is fairly rigid, and once the novelty of being a ghost has settled, the play can feel more guided than open. It plays like a story-driven action adventure with stealthy supernatural bits rather than a deep systems game. In practice that means more atmosphere and scripted exploration than hard puzzle solving or combat. It sits closer to narrative adventure than to a free-form mystery game, and the ceiling is set by how much that ghost premise can carry. The name still does the heavy lifting long after the mechanics have said their piece.
