Mortal Online 2

Mortal Online 2 is a large-scale online fantasy sandbox that asks for long attention, careful planning, and a tolerance for systems that do not hand out comfort. By our assessment, its real strength is the freedom to build a character, move through a harsh world, and run into other players in a way that feels much less scripted than in theme-park MMOs. The downside is that this kind of freedom comes with a steep learning curve and a lot of friction, especially for people who want quick clarity or gentle onboarding. In play it sounds like travel, gathering, trade, combat, and social risk all matter at once, so a small mistake can cost more than in a softer online game. It sits closer to old-school, demanding sandbox MMOs than to polished lobby-driven online RPGs. Mortal Online 2 is for players who want a rougher world and are willing to work for every bit of progress, not for anyone looking for a relaxed evening of guided questing.
