Montaro

Montaro is a small, weird idle-leaning game about collecting dogs in a drifting city life, and that plain oddness is most of its appeal. By our assessment, it works best as a light toy for people who like slow accumulation, cute screens, and the mild satisfaction of checking back in to see what showed up next. The strength is the tone: it is friendly, low-pressure, and easy to understand at a glance. The downside is that there is not much here beyond the loop of waiting, collecting, and sorting through the novelty. In practice it feels more like a pocket diversion than a system you sink into for long sessions, and it asks for patience more than skill. Compared with fuller management or collection games, Montaro is much thinner, but also much simpler to drop in and out of. It ends up being for players who want a small distraction rather than a deep game.
