Missile Pilot

Missile Pilot is a reflex game built around quick steering and not much else. By our assessment, that makes it clear and immediate: the appeal is in threading through danger and reacting fast enough to stay alive. The downside is the same narrowness, because once the movement pattern is understood, there is not a great deal of room for surprise. In practice it is the sort of game that asks for short bursts of concentration rather than a long evening of planning. Against broader arcade shooters it is thinner, but also more focused on the pure act of dodging. Missile Pilot is for players who want a simple test of nerves, and it stops being interesting once they want variety.
