Mind Over Magic

Mind Over Magic stands out because it mixes school management with spellcraft, so the player is not just laying out rooms but also overseeing students, staff, and magical infrastructure. By our assessment, that combination is its best feature: there is a clear fantasy of building a wizard school while also dealing with the usual sim-game pressure of schedules and resources. The honest limit is that a game with this kind of setup can feel busy in a good way, but also demanding in the way management fans expect, since everything depends on keeping many small systems in order. In practice, it has the texture of planning, placement, and steady supervision rather than constant spectacle. Compared with simpler fantasy builders, it promises more moving parts and less hand-holding. Mind Over Magic is the one to reach for if the appeal of running a magical institution is stronger than the desire for a relaxed, decorative sim.
