Metro Awakening

Metro Awakening is the kind of game that carries the Metro name into VR, so it naturally appeals to players who want a tense shooter and survival atmosphere in first person. By our assessment, its strongest point is the fit between the setting and the headset: tight spaces, dark tunnels, and close-quarters pressure are exactly the kind of material VR can make more immediate. The trade-off is that VR also raises the cost in comfort, focus, and physical stamina, so it is less forgiving than a flat-screen shooter. In practice, that usually means careful movement, deliberate aiming, and a stronger sense of presence than the same idea would have on a monitor. It sits above generic VR action because the Metro formula already brings mood, scarcity, and danger; the ceiling is still the limits of VR comfort and how much tension a player wants. Metro Awakening asks for patience in the dark, and that is where it earns its place.
