Metal Fatigue

Metal Fatigue stands out because the name already points to wear, strain, and the slow drain that good strategy games often model better than most. By our assessment, it is the sort of game strategy and mech fans reach for when they want layered resource play rather than pure spectacle. Its real strength is the sense of managing machines and systems under pressure, where every move has to fit a larger plan. The downside is that this kind of design asks for patience and some tolerance for complexity, and it will not flatter casual button-mashing. In practice, a game like this tends to reward players who like building, repositioning, and thinking a few turns ahead. Compared with slicker real-time strategy games, it is likely more idiosyncratic and less streamlined. Metal Fatigue is for people who enjoy a heavier strategic pace and do not need constant fireworks to stay interested.
