Meet Your Maker

Meet Your Maker asks for a very specific kind of player: someone who likes building deadly outposts for other people to raid, then learning from the attacks that come back. By our assessment, that creator-versus-raider loop is its real strength, because the game turns traps, room layout, and pathing into the main event. The downside is that it depends on a live push-pull between building and invading, so if one side stops being fun the whole loop loses energy. In practice it is part construction tool, part first-person raid game, with a lot of iteration and a fair amount of trial and error. It sits in the online trap-base niche rather than among broad shooters, and Meet Your Maker is at its best when the player enjoys both making a maze and walking into someone else’s.
