MechWarrior 5: Clans

MechWarrior 5: Clans puts you inside a cockpit and makes the weight of that machine matter, which is exactly what MechWarrior has always sold well. By our assessment, the strongest part is the feeling of piloting a battle mech through fire, heat, and weapon management rather than just aiming and shooting like a normal action game. The trade-off is that this kind of combat can be bulky and demanding, because positioning, loadouts, and the machine itself matter more than quick reflexes alone. In practice it is about locking in, reading the battlefield, and accepting that a giant mech is not supposed to turn like a fighter jet. Compared with lighter shooters, it sits on the simulation-heavy side of mech combat, and the Clans label points to the BattleTech side of that universe. It is for players who want armored machinery and tactical movement, not for anyone looking for a fast arcade robot game.
