Mech Engineer

Mech Engineer points toward the part of games where planning matters more than reflexes, usually for players who like building, balancing, and fixing systems until they hold together. By our assessment, that kind of setup can be satisfying because the fun comes from understanding the machine rather than from flashy action. The flip side is patience: engineering-style games often ask for trial, error, and a fair amount of fussing with parts that do not behave on the first try. In practice, that means menus, numbers, and a lot of mental bookkeeping, which is a pleasure for some and a chore for others. Against other mech games, it sounds more focused on construction than on combat spectacle. Mech Engineer is the sort of title that rewards people who enjoy tinkering more than people who want instant payoff.
