Magic Duels is a digital version of Magic: The Gathering for people who want the card game handled by the screen, with deck building and turn-by-turn spell play doing the work. By our assessment, its best quality is that it brings the core rules and stack-based back-and-forth of Magic into a cleaner format than tabletop play. The limit is that it sits in an awkward place between a full paper collection and the richer digital versions that came later, so it can feel boxed in. In practice it is about sequencing, reading board states, and waiting for the right opening, not about reflexes. It suits players who already like Magic’s logic, but it is not the easiest first stop for someone who wants a fast, loose collectible game.
