MONOLISK

MONOLISK is for players who like building as much as playing, because the game mixes dungeon-crawling with card-like tools for making and sharing levels. By our assessment, its most interesting trick is that user-made content is not a side feature; it is the point, and that gives it a lively, slightly unpredictable feel. The downside is obvious for a creation-first game: the quality swings with what people build, and the experience depends on whether fresh stages are worth your time. In practice it can feel like browsing a stream of odd little challenge rooms, then jumping into the editor to make one of your own. It sits somewhere between a lightweight action game and a level editor, which makes it more flexible than a plain crawler but less polished than a focused campaign. MONOLISK is a good pick for people who enjoy tinkering with systems and do not mind that the best part may be the community’s ideas rather than a fixed story.
