METAL SLUG X

METAL SLUG X still stands out because it is all readable arcade chaos: crisp pixel art, loud weapons, rescue-everyone momentum and enemies that turn each screen into a short panic. By our assessment, its real strength is how cleanly it plays as a run-and-gun platform shooter, with movement, enemy placement and weapon swaps doing the heavy lifting. The trade-off is the usual one for the genre: it is tough, unforgiving and happiest when you accept repetition instead of expecting a forgiving campaign. In practice it feels immediate and physical, with very little between the player and the next explosion, which is exactly why it keeps being remembered. It sits near the top of classic arcade action, especially for people who want their shooters quick, loud and unmistakably old-school, and it does not pretend to be gentle.
