MDK 2

MDK 2 keeps the odd mix of action and slapstick that made the first game memorable, but it spreads that joke across more levels and more playable characters. By our assessment, it works best for players who like old-school third-person shooting with a lot of movement, boss fights, and a very silly tone layered over real combat. The strength is the sense of pace: it keeps changing tools and situations, so it rarely sits still. The downside is that its humour and level design are tied to the era of fixed-camera action games, so some parts feel fussy and a bit awkward now. In practice it asks for quick reactions, some patience with older controls, and a taste for games that care more about personality than polish. Compared with cleaner modern shooters, MDK 2 is messier but far stranger, and that strangeness is the point.
