MANDAGON

MANDAGON is for players who like wandering through a strange side-scroller and piecing meaning together from atmosphere rather than clear instructions. By our assessment, its strongest point is the mood: the hand-made look, the quiet pace, and the way it asks you to keep moving through places that feel symbolic. The trade-off is that it can feel opaque and deliberately spare, so anyone wanting firm goals or constant feedback may bounce off it. In practice it is more about drifting, noticing, and interpreting than about pressure or score-chasing. Compared with more straightforward indie platformers, it leans harder into mystery and less into mechanical variety. It suits people who enjoy slow, reflective games and do not mind that some of the appeal is in not being told everything. The controls and presentation are simple enough, but the whole experience depends on patience and attention to the world around you.
