Love Letter is a tiny card game that gets its value from being fast, tense, and easy to pull out almost anywhere. By our assessment, that is exactly its strength: a small deck, simple turns, and a lot of reading other players rather than managing a big table of rules. The downside is obvious too, because the whole design is built for brevity, so it will not satisfy anyone who wants a long strategic sprawl. In practice it feels brisk and slightly sharp, with every card mattering more than its size suggests. Compared with heavier modern card games, Love Letter sits at the light end and works best when the group wants something quick, social, and low-fuss.
