Life is Strange - Episode 1

Life is Strange - Episode 1 is the opening chapter of a choice-driven adventure, and it is aimed at players who care more about mood, dialogue, and consequences than reflexes. By our assessment, what it does best is set up a strong small-town mystery and then make every conversation feel weighted, even when the mechanics stay simple. The downside is that an opening episode can only begin the larger story, so it leaves a lot hanging and depends heavily on whether the tone clicks. In practice it plays like a slow walk through rooms, phones, notes, and arguments, with occasional interactive touches instead of complex systems. Compared with action games, it is almost all atmosphere and decision-making; compared with longer adventure games, it is more of an introduction than a full meal. The title has the number 1 as part of its name, and that fits the fact that this is only the first piece of a larger arc.
