Lies of P

Lies of P takes the Soulslike formula and gives it a stiff, clockwork edge, which is exactly why people who like that kind of pressure notice it. By our assessment, its real draw is the mix of deliberate melee combat, weapon assembly, and a Pinocchio-based setting that makes the world feel recognisable without turning silly. The downside is also familiar: it asks for patience, repetition, and a tolerance for punishment, because mistakes get answered hard. In practice the game is all about reading enemy timing, managing stamina, and learning bosses the slow way, so every victory feels earned. Against other Soulslikes it stands out more for its atmosphere and clean presentation than for being radically new. It is a strong choice if that particular style of hard action appeals, and a bad pick if a steady stream of progress matters more than learning through failure.
