Levelhead

Levelhead stands out as a maker’s platformer, the kind built around designing levels, sharing them, and then running through other people’s creations. By our assessment, that workshop-style loop is its real strength: the player is not just clearing stages but also making them, which gives the game a long tail if the community stays active. The downside is that this format depends a lot on the quality of the levels around it, so the experience can swing between clever and forgettable. In play it feels like a platformer that refuses to stop at the campaign and keeps turning back into a toolset. Against plain stage-by-stage platformers, Levelhead sits closer to creation and curation than to a fixed adventure. It suits players who enjoy building as much as jumping, and it loses some force for anyone who only wants a neat solo run. By our assessment, that editor-and-sharing focus is what makes Levelhead more than a simple mascot platformer.
