Let's Build a Zoo

Let's Build a Zoo is a management game for people who enjoy arranging enclosures, balancing money, and watching a park fill with animals and visitors. By our assessment, its big strength is the contrast between tidy system-building and the absurd freedom of breeding hybrids, which gives the whole thing a playful edge. The downside is familiar to this kind of sim: once the layout gets busy, the careful planning can turn into a lot of menu work and housekeeping. In practice it is a game of placing paths, cages, staff, and services while trying to keep the zoo efficient enough to expand. It sits in the same general lane as other light management sims, but its joke-forward animal design gives it a more comic personality than the usual spreadsheet zoo. Let's Build a Zoo fits players who like systems, but it does not try to be a deep hardcore manager.
