Last Train Home

Last Train Home leans on the pressure of moving under fire, and that gives the game a built-in urgency many strategy titles never quite reach. By our assessment, it is most appealing to players who like squad management, scarce resources, and a campaign feel wrapped in wartime survival rather than clean power fantasy. The real strength is that constant trade-off between speed, losses, and what can be carried forward, which makes each decision feel weighty. The limit is also plain: this kind of game can be punishing and mentally busy, so the tension that makes it good can also make it tiring. In play, that usually means careful route choices, small errors with real consequences, and long stretches of planning between bursts of action. Compared with softer strategy games, Last Train Home asks for more patience and accepts less room for casual drifting. The name fits the pressure of getting people and supplies through one moving crisis.
