LEGO STAR WARS: The Force Awakens works best as family-friendly action that folds Star Wars set pieces into LEGO humour, light platforming, and simple combat. By our assessment, its charm comes from how it translates a very recognizable film world into toy-brick levels, with the usual LEGO rhythm of switching characters, solving small puzzles, and breaking almost everything into pieces. The downside is also familiar: the humor and straightforward mechanics keep it friendly, but they do not leave much room for depth once the jokes and stage structure are understood. In practice, it is a steady, readable adventure that asks for more wandering and item use than precision. It sits comfortably among the LEGO licensed games, closer to accessible co-op-friendly adventure than to a demanding action title. The Force Awakens part of the name tells you the film hook, and the game stops well short of anything complicated.
