LEGO Bricktales

LEGO Bricktales turns building into the main verb, and that is what makes it stand out. By our assessment, its best trick is the way it uses LEGO pieces as small engineering problems: bridges, supports, paths, and little contraptions that ask for practical thinking instead of freeform chaos. That gives the game a very hands-on feel, because every solution is something you can see piece by piece come together. The downside is that this structure can feel contained once the puzzle idea has done its job; it is more about tinkering than about surprise. Compared with action-first LEGO games, it is quieter and more deliberate, and compared with pure puzzle games it has more charm and physical personality. LEGO Bricktales is best for players who enjoy construction and light problem-solving, not for anyone looking for fast reflexes or constant combat.
