Kingsway

Kingsway hides a lot of its personality inside an interface that looks like a desktop window, and that is the point: it turns dungeon-crawling into something you manage through menus, pop-ups, and fake system clutter. By our assessment, the cleverness is not just the joke but the way the interface becomes the game, so every choice feels like using a strange operating system for an RPG. The downside is that the trick depends on novelty and on liking a deliberately awkward layer between player and world. In practice it is a compact, odd, memorable game rather than a broad one, with a puzzle-box feel built from inventory screens and navigation rather than open exploration. Compared with more traditional dungeon RPGs, it is much more about interface play, and that is exactly what gives it its place.
