Iron Front: Digital War Edition is a World War II tactical shooter for players who care more about squad movement, cover, and battlefield positioning than about fast run-and-gun play. By our assessment, its value lies in the heavier, slower military feel, where planning matters and mistakes tend to stick. The limit is obvious: this style can feel stiff and unforgiving if someone wants immediate action or arcade flow. In practice it asks for attention to orders, angles, and distance, which gives firefights a deliberate pace. It sits nearer to simulation-minded shooters than to loud spectacle shooters, and that is both the point and the ceiling. The title itself signals the game’s straight-faced, historical-war ambition without trying to be subtle about it.
