Infernax

Infernax asks for attention in a very old-school way: it is an action-adventure game with a strong retro platformer feel, built around tough fights, exploration, and deliberate movement. By our assessment, its best quality is how plainly it commits to that style, with harsh enemy pressure and the sense that every step forward matters. The downside is just as clear, because this sort of game can be unforgiving and will not smooth over sloppy timing. In practice it feels hands-on and a little severe, with a lot of trial, correction, and map memory. Compared with modern streamlined action games, Infernax sits much closer to the cast-iron side of the genre, and that is exactly the point.
