Ib

Ib lives on atmosphere first: it is a compact indie horror adventure where exploring a strange art gallery matters more than combat or speed. By our assessment, its real strength is the way it uses simple spaces, unsettling imagery, and quiet puzzle solving to keep pressure on the player without needing noise all the time. The trade-off is that it is short and modest in mechanics, so anyone wanting elaborate systems will find it sparse very quickly. In play it feels careful and deliberate, with every room inviting a second look because the game leans on mood and small discoveries rather than busy action. Compared with bigger horror games, Ib is more intimate and less brutal, and that restraint is part of why it sticks in memory. It suits people who want a tense story-driven horror game, and not people who need constant combat or a huge ruleset.
