Hunted: The Demon’s Forge is a co-op action game with a fantasy cover and a fairly straightforward mix of ranged and melee combat. By our assessment, its main attraction is simple enough: two characters, lots of enemies, and a loop built around clearing spaces and pushing forward. The limit is also easy to see, because this kind of game depends heavily on combat feel and level flow, and if those are only average the whole thing can turn plain. In practice it is the sort of game that asks for direct movement, quick reactions, and not much fuss. It sits in the middle of the budget fantasy-action field rather than near the genre leaders, and Hunted: The Demon’s Forge is best treated as a serviceable co-op hack-and-shoot, not a deep RPG.
