House of Detention

House of Detention feels like a prison-set game or horror piece that gets its force from confinement, surveillance, and pressure rather than from spectacle. By our assessment, that kind of setup can work well when the location itself is the point, because locked doors, narrow corridors, and constant control create an immediate sense of strain. The limit is obvious too: once a prison idea is used only as a grim backdrop, it can become repetitive fast. In practice this kind of work depends on whether the design keeps turning the same enclosed space into new situations; otherwise the walls start doing all the talking. Compared with broader escape or survival games, it is narrower and more oppressive by design. House of Detention is most plausible as a tense, confined experience, and the name promises exactly that kind of pressure.
