Hot Lava

Hot Lava is a first-person platform game built around a simple childhood rule: the floor is dangerous, so everything becomes a route above it. By our assessment, it is best when it keeps movement clean and playful, with jumping, climbing, and timing doing most of the work. The drawback is equally clear: the whole idea depends on levels that stay inventive enough to keep that joke from wearing thin. In practice it feels immediate and physical, with a lot of quick retries and a strong sense of navigating furniture, halls, and rooms as obstacle courses. Compared with bigger platformers, it is smaller in scope and more dependent on its premise, but that premise is easy to grasp and easy to enjoy. It works well for people who want a bright movement game and do not need deep systems or a long campaign.
