Home - A VR Spacewalk

Home - A VR Spacewalk asks for patience more than reflexes, because the whole point is the slow, careful drift of a spacewalk in virtual reality. By our assessment, that makes it interesting for people who want presence and scale rather than action, since the appeal of a VR piece like this is usually in looking around, leaning in, and taking in the void at close range. The strong part is the format itself: VR can make a simple motion feel more physical than a flat screen ever can. The trade-off is that the content has to do enough work after the first wow moment, and many spacewalk experiences live or die on atmosphere. In practice, this kind of thing tends to be brief, controlled, and more like an experience than a full game with systems to master. It sits closer to VR showcase pieces and short simulations than to big sci-fi adventures. Home - A VR Spacewalk sounds like one of those pieces where the headset does a lot of the heavy lifting.
