Heretic's Fork

Heretic's Fork takes the office-comedy look of a desk job and turns it into a lane-based defense game about sorting trouble, punishing intruders, and upgrading a brutal little machine of a system. By our assessment, what it does well is give tower-defense style planning a nastier, more satirical skin, so each run feels like arranging punishments rather than simply placing turrets. The trade-off is that the tone and the loop can start to feel repetitive if someone wants a more open strategy game. In practice it is about making tight decisions under pressure and watching the build slowly become more efficient. It sits near deckbuilders and survival defense games more than traditional tower defense, and the whole thing is happiest when the player enjoys rules turning into a grindable pattern. Heretic's Fork is not subtle, but it knows exactly what kind of loop it wants.
