Hektor

Hektor is a first-person horror game that uses darkness, confinement, and unreliable space to keep you off balance. By our assessment, its main strength is atmosphere: it knows how to make a corridor feel longer than it is and a flashlight feel too weak for comfort. The limit is that this style lives or dies on mood, so if the tension does not land, there is not much else underneath. In practice it asks for patience, slow movement, and a taste for being uneasy rather than for solving complex systems. Compared with big cinematic horror titles, it is smaller and rougher, and that keeps it closer to a compact scare piece than to a broad adventure.
