Hazard Ops

Hazard Ops sounds like a shooter that wants a straightforward arcade loop: run, shoot, collect gear, and keep moving. By our assessment, that kind of game lives or dies on how clean its combat feels and how readable its enemy pressure is, and the title gives away that it is aiming at action rather than story. The obvious limit is that this sort of game can become repetitive fast if the weapon set and mission structure do not keep changing. In practice, Hazard Ops is the sort of name that suggests missions, upgrades, and a lot of on-screen noise, but there is not much safely specific to say beyond the genre itself. It sits in the crowded middle of online action games, where presentation and flow matter more than grand ideas. That makes it a fit for players who want simple firefights and little fuss, and a poor fit for anyone looking for a deep campaign or careful tactical play.
