Hand of Fate 2

Hand of Fate 2 stands out because it mixes deck-building with action-RPG combat, so the player is constantly moving between planning and execution. By our assessment, that hybrid is its real strength: the card-driven structure gives runs a strong shape, while the fights keep the whole thing from feeling abstract. The trade-off is that both sides have to share the stage, so neither is as deep as a game built purely around one of them. In practice it feels a bit like assembling a route, then being dropped into scrappy battles that decide whether the plan was worth it. Compared with a pure card game, it is more kinetic; compared with a straight action game, it is more tactical and a little stranger. Hand of Fate 2 is a good fit for players who enjoy genre mashups and do not mind a game that keeps changing its mode instead of settling into one lane.
