Hack, Slash, Loot is a stripped-down dungeon crawler for people who enjoy short runs, random drops, and the constant risk of losing a promising build. By our assessment, its real strength is the clean loop: go down, grab gear, fight, and decide when to cut a run short before greed turns into a dead end. The downside is the same one that defines many roguelikes of this type: repetition arrives fast if the combat and item pool do not keep surprising you. In practice it feels brisk and mean in a good way, with little ceremony around death and a lot of attention on routing through danger. It sits closer to compact old-school dungeon games than to story-heavy fantasy RPGs, with loot and survival pressure doing most of the work. The name tells the truth plainly, and so does the game itself.
