HELLCARD

HELLCARD is a deck-building card game with tactical fights, so the real work is in building a deck, lining up synergies, and then surviving the next encounter with what you drew. By our assessment, its main strength is how neatly it turns card choices into battle decisions, which gives each run a sharp, puzzle-like edge. The honest limit is the familiar one for the genre: if the deck does not come together, fights can feel unforgiving, and bad draws matter. In play it asks for steady attention rather than quick reflexes, and the pleasure comes from seeing a plan survive one more room. Compared with looser roguelike card games, HELLCARD sounds more combat-forward and more openly tactical. It suits people who enjoy deliberate drafting and managing risk from turn to turn, while anyone wanting a relaxed card game will probably find it too demanding.
