Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure

Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure is a playful action RPG that wears its charm on its sleeve: bright colours, simple combat, light exploration, and a lot of character in the way it moves. By our assessment, its real strength is the cheerful tone and the platforming-adventure structure, which keeps it friendly rather than fussy. The downside is that its combat and challenge are not deep, so it can feel lightweight next to bigger action RPGs. In practice it plays like a compact, friendly quest with more personality than complexity, and the camera and older design choices are part of that old-school feel. It sits closer to a cult favourite than a modern benchmark, with a style that people usually remember more than any hard system underneath. Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure suits players who want something breezy and oddball, not anyone looking for a dense systems game.
