Gunboat

Gunboat is a combat game for people who want to run a boat like a weapon system, not just watch splashy action from shore. By our assessment, its appeal comes from the specific fantasy of controlling a heavily armed vessel, choosing angles, managing fire, and keeping a machine alive under pressure. That gives it a clear strength: the theme and the play fit neatly together. The downside is equally clear, because this sort of game can feel narrow if you want broader naval strategy or lots of downtime between fights. In practice it is about positioning, timing, and the steady work of staying on target while the scene around you stays busy. Compared with large fleet war games, Gunboat is more focused and more tactical at the level of one vessel. It is a strong pick for players who like hands-on combat and do not need a giant sea map to be satisfied.
