Greak: Memories of Azur

Greak: Memories of Azur is the sort of side-scrolling action adventure that leans on movement, sibling teamwork and hand-drawn fantasy art. By our assessment, it is at its best when you are switching between characters to use their different abilities, solving light environmental puzzles and moving through a world that looks carefully built. The trade-off is that this kind of game can feel modest in scale, and its combat and puzzle design will not satisfy players who want either deep systems or heavy challenge. In play it has a neat, tactile feel, with short bursts of platforming, combat and puzzle solving rather than one huge loop. Against bigger Metroidvania-style games, it is smaller and gentler, but that also makes it easier to take in. Greak: Memories of Azur is a solid pick for players who want a polished adventure with atmosphere more than complexity.
