Goodbye Deponia

Goodbye Deponia keeps the Deponia trilogy in the same rude, hand-drawn point-and-click lane, with joke-first writing and a lot of inventory puzzling. By our assessment, its strongest stretch is the comic timing: it leans hard on slapstick, noisy dialogue, and a world that stays weird without becoming unreadable. The price of that style is the familiar Daedalic trade-off, because the puzzles can wander into moon-logic and the humor can feel busy if the series’ tone is not already your thing. In practice it plays like a classic adventure game with repeated backtracking, clicking through scenes, and trying odd item combinations until the next gag lands. It sits closer to old-school LucasArts-style adventures than to anything modern and streamlined. The name tells you the mood plainly: this is for people who want a noisy finale to a trashy sci-fi comedy world, and not for anyone who wants clean pacing or puzzle fairness. Its art and tone do the heavy lifting, and the text around the puzzles is what carries it.
