Gods of Sand

Gods of Sand reaches for the big, noisy pleasure of a strategy game with ancient power struggles, where armies, gods, and terrain all matter at once. By our assessment, that kind of setup is at its best when it lets the player feel scale without losing the tactical board underneath, and sand as a battlefield gives the whole thing a hard, exposed look. The obvious trade-off is complexity: games built on factions, powers, and layered combat can ask for real attention before they open up. In practice it is the sort of game that rewards planning and punishes sloppy moves, which makes each turn or fight feel like a decision rather than a button press. Compared with simpler tactics games, Gods of Sand sounds broader and more demanding, but also less immediately relaxed. It suits players who like systems they can learn and then press against; people wanting a light, breezy skirmish should look elsewhere.
