Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection is built for players who accept punishment as part of the joke: it is a side-scrolling action game where hard jumps, awkward enemies, and repeated failure are baked into the loop. By our assessment, its strongest point is that it keeps the old arcade-style pressure while giving the series a fresh coat of presentation and level design. The downside is the same old one for this kind of game: it asks for memory, timing, and patience, and it does not soften the blows very much. In practice it feels brisk, tense, and very particular about when and where you move. Compared with easier platform action games, it is stricter and more old-school, and Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection keeps that spirit right up front.
